Chapter 125 Unhappy Mood
"What are you wearing?!" Tungmei looked like her eyes were about to pop out from their sockets.
Her simple conservative dressing was a large contrast to Zhang Liling\'s sexy outfit.
A hint of teasing hung on Zhang Liling\'s lips as she asked, "What\'s wrong with my outfit? I think it suits the club theme..."
"You-you are really something else. It will be good if there was someone to keep a leash on you. I mean, why would you come out dressed like that, it\'s not like there is anyone you want to impress here."
Tungmei felt all of this was weird considering how their actions and indifference to be romantically linked to any boy in their class, was.
"I indeed want to impress someone." But just before the surprised Tungmei could ask who it was amongst their classmates that she wanted to impress, she added, "But he is not here. And I bet I maybe in trouble at the end of today."
"Do you have someone you are secretly seeing and don\'t want to tell me about it? Also, why would you be in trouble, it\'s not like you are living with your father?"
Zhang Liling chuckled to herself as she thought of Mr. Fang and the usual glare that normally sat on his face.
These days, his scrutinizing glances and glares, no longer had the same weight it used to have on her. She was no longer easily frightened by them, and this maybe as a result of her feelings for him getting the better of her.
Tugging on Tungmei\'s arms, she pulled her further and made her way into the club proper, while refusing to give her a satisfying response to her questions.
"If I have a boyfriend, I will tell you."
Stepping into the noisy hall where the loud music was being controlled by the DJ, the two ladies couldn\'t help but to look around.
The two genders were on the dance floor twisting their bodies and rocking their partners.
"Here is not actually crowdy, and why do I feel like everyone here is familiar?" Zhang Liling half-shouted into Tungmei\'s ear for a better effect.
If she was not used to such loud sounds, she swore that her ears would have blasted as soon as she stepped into the large room.
Tungmei leaned in to whisper to her ear, "That\'s because most of them are not just our coursemates, but other students from NYU."
There was a look of surprise on Zhang Liling\'s face when she heard that. "What? Is this a kind of NYU graduate get-together?"
She didn\'t like the thought of it as she asked away. It would have been good if this was an affair with just the students in her graduate class and course.
She didn\'t feel good about everyone in NYU seeing her in a club. It\'s not like it was a bad thing, but she just felt weird with this whole student stuff.
Tungmei smiled when she saw her face turn from surprise to dispirited. Taking her hand in hers, she said with a sweet smile, "Stop frowning as if you were dragged here... Let\'s go and find the others."
Zhang Liling let herself get dragged away. If she had known that this would look like a student stuff, she would have prepared her mind more in case she still wanted to come after finding out.
The night couldn\'t turn any worse when she saw her half-brother, Zhang Mingyu.
The guy was smiling with a glass of whiskey in his hand, as a few ladies surrounded him, while trying to flirt with him.
Zhang Mingyu felt a dark gaze on him and for a moment, shifted his gaze toward that direction only to see his half-sister staring at him and was momentarily surprised.
He wasn\'t expecting that she would come to a place like that, given how she was usually supressed at home.
Quickly, he flashed her a smile and even raised his glass to her, but earned an eye roll from her.
He didn\'t in the least feel offended with her like before, or even now. Since his car was returned to him earlier today, the grudge he had against her slowly dissipated, but he still couldn\'t forgive her completely.
He still blamed her for being the reason he had to see his mother\'s ugly skeleton hidden in her cupboard. Till today, he still wished he didn\'t know that side of her.
Zhang Liling couldn\'t be bothered about Zhang Mingyu and that fake smile of his, and rolled her eyes at him.
Tungmei saw all of that and sighed. "Your brother looks to be in a good mood today. He looks like he doesn\'t have any drudge against you anymore, do you think he\'s drunk?" She asked while stealing glances at him, who had already turned his focus back on the ladies he was chatting with.
"He can never be my brother as long as he is from Shi Wenqian! Also, I don\'t care if he is drunk or not, I don\'t know him!"
Zhang Liling denied having any kind of relationship with Zhang Mingyu, and her facial expression couldn\'t get any darker.
Studying her mood and seeing how dark she was, Tungmei thought to lighten her mood. "Do you want to find some of our coursemates to chat a bit?"
Zhang Liling released a sigh. "At this point, I am even more tempted to go back home." She said that as she thought back to Mr. Fang\'s handsome face, as his images flooded her mind.
"It\'s too early to go back, let\'s find a place to sit." Tungmei said and continued to pull her until they were stopped by a male classmate.
"Hey! Miss Zhang and Lady Tungmei, you girls are here! Why don\'t you join some of our coursemates in the booth nearby?" He suggested with a friendly smile.
Tungmei was about to accept his request, but right at that time, Zhang Liling spoke, "You just need to show us the direction and we will join you guys later."
"Fine!"
**********
Zhang Liling exhaled as she sat her ass down and placed an order for a cocktail, while Tungmei placed an order for a heavy drink.
Zhang Liling looked at her in surprise, "Are you for real?" Her eyes asked.
