Chapter 359 Cataclysmic Tempest
Elliot fell silent for a few minutes as he conversed with his system to finalize his Dragon Apostles and their new skills.
He was like a little boy being sent into the largest and most awesome toy store in the universe, and then being shown ten of their most wondrous and super exciting toys.
Or in modern terms, it was like a little boy being given the latest game consoles and then being given ten of the most popular games ever made!
Exhilaration!
Anticipation!
Joy!
“Let’s begin with the Golden Apostle.” Elliot said with a smile. He wasn’t the type to save the best for last.
Best things first, works really well as a life motto for him.
[Golden Dragon – Royal Element – Light.]
[Seraphic Regiment – Summons a Regiment of Angelic Seraphs that deal Light Element and Aural damage. The strength of the Seraphs would depend on the strength of the Golden Dragon/Host.]
“Accepted.” Elliot said with a grin.
“Holy smokes! Angelic Regiment sounds ridiculously overpowered. Light Element AND Aural damage?!” Elliot thought to himself.
Suddenly, to the shock of everyone present, Primal Golden Fire fell to one knee once more!
“Golden Fire thanks the Dragon Lord for his gift! Long live the Dragon Lord!!” Primal Golden Fire shouted fervently.
“Rise.” Elliot said as he waved his hand to indicate his acknowledgement.
As Golden Fire stood up, a bright draconic silhouette burst out of his body and shot out towards Elliot.
In a split second, the silhouette entered Elliot’s body and disappeared. After that happened, Elliot seemed to gain the life force of Primal Golden Fire pulsing within him!
[Ding!]
[Golden Dragon Soul Essence received.]
[Host currently still in King Level.]
[Golden Dragon Soul Essence dormant and on passive defensive mode until host achieves Ancient Level.]
[Soul-Bound Dragon Apostle System Unlocked.]
[Soul-Bound Golden Apostle detected.]
[Creating Dragon Lord Soul Shard.]
[Bestowing Dragon Lord Soul Shard upon Soul-Bound Golden Apostle.]
Elliot looked at Primal Golden Fire in surprise.
However, he realized that Primal Golden Fire was also looking at him with surprise!
Both blinked at each other wordlessly before nodding at each other solemnly.
There were no words that needed to be exchanged. The Soul Essence brimming with unmatched soul energy that was laying dormant in his soul spoke more than enough as to what Primal Golden Fire’s intentions were.
The only words he had were for the system.
“System, what is a Soul Shard?” Elliot asked.
[A Soul Shard is a minor clone of your Soul. It contains 25% of your Soul’s strength.]
“Interesting. So when a Dragon gives me his Soul Essence, he will become a Soul-Bound Apostle, and he will receive my Soul Shard in return?” Elliot confirmed.
[Affirmative.]
“And when I receive the Soul Essences of all ten Dragon Primals, all of them will receive Soul Shards that contain 25% of my Soul Strength, which contains the strength of ten Dragon Souls plus my own Soul?”
[Affirmative.]
“How many Soul Shards can I give away?”
[You can create a maximum of twenty four Soul Shards, one for each of your Apostles, after they have given you their Soul Essences.]
“Hohoho! So I can give my Soul Shards to my Beast Apostles as well! I assume they have to reach Ancient Level first?”
[Affirmative.]
“Excellent! Excellent!”
Every non-dragon Primal, as well as Saint Dul’Akharat, looked at the phenomenon in confusion.
They had never seen nor even heard of such a strange happening!
However, the nine remaining Dragon Primals were all shocked to their very core. Unlike the other Primals, they knew exactly what Primal Golden Fire had done.
Primal Golden Fire had gifted Elliot with his Soul Essence!!
Unlike Blood Essences which could be recovered once given away, albeit at a very slow rate, Soul Essences were a once-a-lifetime creation.
Dragons had learnt the secret of Soul Essences, and they would form their Soul Essences as soon as they reached Ancient Level. They would nurture it and strengthen it to the point of being utterly unmatched in the entire known universe in terms of Soul Force.
Soul Essences represent the core of a Dragon’s Soul Force. It was essentially the aircraft carrier of a naval fleet, the alpha of a wolf pack!
Once given away, the Dragon would be left with only his auxilliary soul power! Against non-dragons without Soul Essences, he would still be able to fight evenly.
And for a dragon to gift another dragon with his Soul Essence simply meant that he had entrusted his life to the other, and had devoted his life to the empowerment of the recipient of the Soul Essence.
It was an utterly irrecoverable act of allegiance!!
However, as the nine Dragon Primals gawked at what Primal Golden Fire had done, the smallest of smiles escaped his lips at that moment.
And that smile seemed to express… satisfaction?? Pleasure, even? Just what was going on??
“Now, Silver Dragon.” Elliot told the system.
[Silver Dragon – Advanced Element – Wind.]
[Cataclysmic Tempest – Shred.]
“What the heck? What’s with the skill description? System, a longer and more descriptive skill description please!” Elliot said to the System AI in an annoyed tone.
[Cataclysmic Tempest – Slice and Dice.]
“… Do your job properly! A longer one! At least twenty words!!”
[Cataclysmic Tempest – A deadly combination of Gales at Cataclysm Grade Wind Speeds and Micro Blades. Area of effect would depend on the Silver Dragon/Host’s strength.]
“Much better.” Elliot said distractedly as he processed the description of the skill. Although he had no idea how fast Cataclysmic Grade Wind Speed was, it sounded absolutely insane.
“Define Cataclysmic Grade Wind Speed.” Elliot ordered the System.
[Speeds above five thousand kilometers per hour are considered Cataclysmic Grade Speed. They would leave absolutely nothing standing on the ground that was not secured by Cataclysmic Grade Foundation.]
Elliot took a deep breath and refrained himself from asking what “Cataclysmic Grade Foundation” was. He didn’t want to get distracted by definitions of the entire grading and scaling system of the new universe.
“This system seems to be more annoying than before it was upgraded.” He muttered to himself. However, although he had complaints about the system’s attitude, he had absolutely no complaints about the quality of skills he was receiving from it.
Cataclysmic Tempest sounded absolutely terrific!!
“Accepted.” Elliot said with a satisfied smile.
