Chapter 677 Don't Ever Say Otherwise
Chapter 677 Don\'t Ever Say Otherwise
"Am I in heaven…"
"Did a god come to save us?"
"I feel so…purified…What is this beautiful light…"
"I don\'t feel so much pain anymore…"
The survivors began to mumble with a dazed expression as their bodies began to recover since the healing pills they had already ingested began to work their magic.
Elor, Irene, and Leon also felt the sense of weakness that had been plaguing them slowly fading away. Still, they didn\'t stop trying to help others and patch up their injuries.
Yuria was sitting on the ground right beside her father, waiting for the healing pill to help him recover, and was relieved to see that his condition was indeed getting better.
Damien came down and saw that Lily\'s light was dispersing the darkness slowly, even if it was only around a small region…just enough to cover all the survivors. But he could see how taxing this was for her, especially since she was basically radiating her ethereal light energy outside through every single inch of her body.
Her expression was contorted, but she was still clenching her jaw and holding on for the sake of others.
He was impressed that even after she had lost a loved one just now, she was able to steer her heart and mind into protecting everyone instead of slipping into despair.
This made him realize how strong her heart was. But he realized there was one problem. Lily wouldn\'t be able to keep on radiating her ethereal energy for long, and after that, the black miasma would surely make its way back and again, marking all these people for imminent death.
But right when he thought that he saw Reva placing her palm on the ground as azure ice began to form and spread over rapidly.
Damien squinted his eyes as he saw the ice quickly spread over but began to grow upwards the moment it covered the entire area where the survivors were.
It grew upwards, then curved in the air to finally form a dome that encompassed all.
\'Brilliant…her ice dome can trap Lily\'s ethereal light energy within this small space while she doesn\'t have to keep on expending her energy,\' Damien couldn\'t be more proud of his wives to see how resourceful and helpful they were.
"Lily, you can rest now," Reva softly said as the light began to slowly fade on Lily\'s body, revealing her slightly pale face and tired eyes.
Within the ice dome, there was not even a speck of the black miasma, and it was filled with Lily\'s pure ethereal light energy that proved to be rejuvenating and relaxing for all of them.
Since her current cultivation was temporarily in the Profound Ethereal Realm, her ethereal light energy was potent enough to last and heal everyone for a while. And even if the ethereal light energy within the dome starts to lose its radiance, Lily could again use her ethereal energy to return its radiance.
All the survivors who were conscious enough gave a bow of gratitude and respect to Lily for saving them from the black miasma. They didn\'t know how she did it, but they didn\'t care. All that was important was that she saved them.
"Lily…I am sorry…" Damien immediately flashed towards Lily, gently embracing her as he let her rest on his chest.
Reva was relieved and happy to see Damien come back safely. She had never stopped keeping an eye on his safety since the moment he flew up to meet Ruthren.
Lily felt tears again welling up behind her eyelids the moment she eased into his comforting presence. But when she thought about what she lost, she felt a stabbing sensation in her stomach, "N-Not even his corpse was spared…hicc…Why…Why did this happen…"
Damien knew that Marvin\'s corpse was turned to dust due to the terrifying explosion. And as each of Lily\'s tears fell on his chest, he felt a thickness in his throat.
He was feeling grief about what happened to Marvin, but more importantly, he was feeling guilty that he didn\'t save Marvin when he could have used Shadows of Time.
But at that time, not only did Luna vehemently tell him not to use it, but Marvin also told him not to as he suggested it to him mentally.
cO,m He still didn\'t know if it was a good or bad thing but what he knew was that he couldn\'t bear to see Lily so sad.
"Lily, I promise…I will make things right," Damien said, his tone filled with a hint of pure rage. He never imagined his wives would be this sad on the day of their wedding itself. Ruthren had sealed his fate as far as Damien was concerned. He wouldn\'t let him die that easily as well.
Damien had resolved himself to make sure Ruthren pays for all of this.
"We will make it right," Reva added with a soft yet firm gaze, her azure eyes looking a bit dull.
"Reva…" Damien pulled her into his embrace as well, and even if her face was not visibly showing any grief or sadness, he could feel how much she was hurting on the inside.
He could feel her body shaking in his embrace, but he didn\'t know how to console her. There was nothing he could do to get back what she lost.
He also knew she was still trying to remain strong for the others so that they wouldn\'t get disheartened further.
But he didn\'t know that Reva was already feeling better by feeling his warmth.
Damien looked at Yuria and sighed, seeing her taking care of King Krisen, who had lost one of his arms.
"He will be okay, right?" Damien asked as Reva nodded, "He will be. But he has lost something that he can\'t get back. I will take care of Lily here. Why don\'t you go and see how she is doing?"
Damien nodded as he kissed Lily\'s forehead and let Reva support her.
He sat down before Yuria and held her hand as he was about to ask something. However, Yuria suddenly looked at him; her honey-colored eyes were empty instead of being filled with vibrance like usual. And with a slightly shaky smile as she said, "You don\'t have to worry about me. I am fine. And as for my papa…I will make sure he feels alright. You should—"
Before she could finish her sentence, Damien hugged her into his embrace as he said, "You are my wife. And that means I will always worry and care about you. Don\'t ever say otherwise. I won\'t allow you to."
