Chapter 502 - Yohr’s Offer
Damien never expected to come upon one of her divine soul shards in this place, and that too for it to be located inside a god\'s soul plane, though it was a very good hiding place to not let anyone sense it.
Fortunately, when Luna counterattacked, she was able to momentarily sense the presence of her shard inside Yohr\'s soul plane, much to her shock.
The amount of desperation she had to find her soul shards was something Damien somewhat understood without her mentioning it.
"You will pay for this, boy! I am going to find out all the secrets you are hiding in your soul, boy!" Yohr\'s voice boomed as the whole icy cave shook as if an earthquake was happening, and the large icy blue pool began to ripple vigorously.
Damien stumbled back as he balanced himself despite the ground shaking, and before he knew it, the ice behind him blocked the tunnel, trapping him here.
He knew this was Yohr\'s doing, but to his shock suddenly the water from the pool splashed and shot upwards as a large monstrous figure emerged from within….A nine-headed large and ferocious dark blue serpent with azure eyes!
Each head had sharp scales and frightening fangs sticking out from its mouth. Its body was very muscular and thick enough to make any weapon seem useless on it.
\'Hydra??\' Damien had read about myths and legends surrounding a nine-headed giant snake that was named Hydra. But he never thought he would be seeing one for real in this world.
"Hisss!!" All nine heads hissed as Yohr bared his fangs ferociously while looking at Damien.
"Don\'t look at his eyes!" Kalypso warned as she suddenly remembered something, and Damien immediately averted his eyes while wondering why Kalypso warned him so.
"Tch, you even know not to look at my eyes. Boy…you are indeed hiding something, as I suspected. Do you want to be petrified forever or tell me the truth? Which one will it be? Hisss…" Yohr asked in a menacing tone as he slowly got closer to Damien.
"You want to know that badly? Let me show you!" Luna suddenly shot out of her Shard of Essence as she appeared before Damien, much to Yohr\'s suck.
"E-Ethereal One?? Impossible!!" Yohr unconsciously cowered the moment Luna made her appearance and sensed this familiar aura coming from her, even though it was not exactly the same as he remembered.
"You are really alive! I knew it!" All of Yohr\'s heads shouted in joy as he thrashed about the water.
"Stop pretending, you bastard. Do you really think you can lie before me? Obviously, you knew I was alive all this time. Otherwise, how would this dimension hold itself together? Without me, everything one and everything in this dimension will get destroyed. And I also know you are hiding one of my soul shards. Give it back, and I will spare your measly life," Luna said in a frigid tone as she glared at him, though her figure looked quite tiny and delicate compared to this humongous nine-headed monster who was lowering his heads in reverence.
Yohr immediately lowered his heads even more as he said in a trembling voice, his eyes not even daring to look at hers, "O Ethereal One, please don\'t be angry. I never meant to hide your soul shard from you. I was merely safeguarding it for you and waiting for your return so that this universe can return to its former glory and make sure every last remnant of that so-called Anti-God is destroyed. We can then destroy the Nether dimension as well and…" Yohr was fervently talking on and on when Yuna suddenly manifested two ethereal swords in her hands and pointed at one of Yohr\'s heads as she said, "Stop babbling and give me my shard back. My patience is running thin."
Her dual swords were seemingly made out of brilliant white light, and it was hard for Damien to even make out their outline, but he suspected that those swords should be manifested from her own soul energy, making them look quite ethereal.
Yohr suddenly became silent for a few moments before he said with a strange glint in his eyes and somehow found the courage to raise his eyes slowly to look at her, "Ethereal One…you don\'t even have the energy to construct a physical body…am I right? Am I also right to say you don\'t have many memories of the past, especially since your soul is in shambles? So why don\'t your ethereal self attach your soul to mine instead of this weak mortal boy and let me help you recover? I can also help you fuse your soul shard and make sure to find the other shards as well. With both of our powers, who could possibly stop us in this mortal plane?" The more Yohr talked, the more his tone was becoming excited, as if he was looking forward to this his entire life.
If it was in the past, he wouldn\'t dare to even look at her, let alone say something like this, since even if he ignored the fact that she wouldn\'t spare him, he himself found it unworthy to utter such words.
But now he realized the condition of her present state, and to his pleasant surprise, he never expected that the supreme goddess he had feared and revered all along would be reduced to such a pitiful state that even her present state was in an even more precarious condition than this to the point that he was sure she wouldn\'t be able to exert even a fraction of her true divine power.
This gave him even more confidence in himself since for the first time, the supreme goddess he could only look at her radiance from afar suddenly seemed very close and even seemed \'weak\' for the first time compared to her cold and terrifyingly powerful past self where just a single thought from her was enough to turn gods to ashes.
But now, she seemed too weak even to the point of having to ask him to give her shard back. He very well knew that if she had true powers, she wouldn\'t even utter a single word if she wanted something. She would right away tear through his soul plane if she had to and take back what was hers. In fact, this was the first time he even heard her talk so much.
Luna became even more incensed, seeing how this mere god was bold enough to bargain with someone like her while Damien was feeling a bit worried since the offer Yohr made seemed very good for Luna and wondered if she would accept it.
