Chapter 238 - LETTING HER KNOW!
Jessica watched through the window, secretly as Tinsley picked up the pie, she had baked for her for dinner.
She had decided to keep away from the couple, for the time being, giving them the much needed time to heal and figure things out by themselves.
It was weird for Tinsley to find the pie lying on her doorstep instead of Jessica coming herself and handing it out to her.
The pie was hot too which implied that it had been kept in her place not for long by then.
Kian could see his wife wondering, holding the pie in her hands. He knew that she must have been thinking about the old woman.
And then cursed under his breath, realizing how he had practically threatened the old soul to sue her in a court of law if she loomed anywhere near him and her wife.
"It\'s getting cold!"
He said, getting close to her and opening the door for her to get in as she was holding the pie.
It made Tinsley to look back at him. Their faces were almost so close. His body passed to her back and she could feel his body heat coming from her.
Their eyes interlocked, her lips half parted as the cold breathe vapour blew out from her mouth.
He noticed her wearing the rose, pinned to her beautiful red hairs near her ears. He smiled, leaning to give a sweet kiss on the flower. It made Tinsley breathe in, closing her eyes.
"It looks pretty on you!"
She had thought of him dropping a kiss on her lips but it only ended up on the rose in her head.
Was she disappointed that it did not happen otherwise??
She herself had no idea as she turned around and before things could get more weirder, she stepped inside without a word.
He followed in right after her, closing the door behind him, not before looking to the right and left, checking if anyone was there watching over them.
Jessica saw the door is closed and with that, she too dropped her curtain off the window, wondering if they had shared a small brief kiss on their porch just a while ago?
Before she could drop the pie on the table nearby to get rid of her coat and hang it up on the hanger but he did it for her.
She then was about to lean down to open her shoes but he got down on his knees right away, hanging the coat up on the hanger.
He untied the laces and then peeled each of the shoes from her feet and dropped a sweet kiss on the top, making her breathe skip.
He made her wear the slippers, looking straight into her eyes. He kept the shoes aside and then stood up.
"Bending down in this time is not good!"
He said, taking the pie from her hold. She let it go, without a protest as she was too duped into those grey orbs, surprising her with things, she had not really thought about.
"I will prepare dinner...you go freshen up!"
He pecked her lips and before she could even react, he was on his back, walking away towards the kitchen.
She stood there, ideal, not knowing what was even going on. She watched him, moving around her small kitchen, taking things out to make dinner.
He took out some fresh veggies from the fridge and started to chop them as if he was a pro.
He turned on the faucet in the sink, raised his sleeves up, exposing his manly wrist, ran his fingers over the vegetables, washing them clean.
She could not help when her senses took a different turn and her body started to react totally, entirely different watching him doing the chores with so much concentration.
He turned the stove on and put the pan on it, spilling the oil over it. Soon he poured the peeled veggies on it, cooking it to its edible state.
The way he moved his hands when he poured the salt and dipped his finger, bringing it up to his mouth to have a taste.
She bit on her lips as she saw him licking his forefinger, totally focused on his cooking, oblivion of the fact that his wife was watching his every movement like a hawk.
He was impressed that it tasted alright. He knew that she needed her food on time to be healthy and so only took a whole of five minutes to cook some fresh veggie snacks.
He lowered the stove temperature and thought to call her out. And when he looked up, he saw that his pretty wife was still standing on her same spot, unmoving, her eyes trained over to him.
"Dinner is ready!"
He declared and it broke her stance. She immediately strode inside her bedroom, her cheeks flushed from being caught red-handed eyeing him all this while.
She closed the door behind her and inhaled a huge chunk of air. She looked at her reflection, splashing the water over her face.
She felt herself in heat. She looked different. She could still feel his lips against her lips even though it was only for a brief second.
"Tinsley?? Dinner is getting cold!!!"
His voice made her look away from the mirror. She quickly wore her maxi dress and walked outside.
She stood on the threshold of the door, seeing him arrange the dinner on the mini dining table.
When everything was ready, he called her in. She very hesitantly stepped towards him and he pulled the chair out for her to sit.
He turned around and stood by her side as he poured her the boiled, cooked vegies and the bread to eat with.
He waited until she ate the first piece in and looked forward to getting any comments or compliments about his food.
When she did not say anything, he asked it out himself, not being able to anticipate any longer.
"How is it??"
And his question took her off guards. She looked up at him and saw how expectantly, he was waiting for her to say anything...even a word.
She parted her eyes away from his, looking back at her plate of food, she gave him a monotone answer.
"It is alright!"
And it was enough for him. He too sat down in his chair, facing opposite to her and poured the food on his plate too.
They both ate in silence, stealing sigh glances of each other from time to time without a word.
It was all very different for Tinsley to have someone\'s company while dining. For months, more than a half, she had been alone.
Cooked alone, served alone, a tea alone in silence. And out of nowhere, she had a man cooking for her, serving her dinner and also eating together with her.
Not just any man...but him...her husband!
And here, he was eating a wholesome meal with not just any woman...but his wife!
It had been ages since they ate together like this. Before it was so usual to be eating together and by now, today, it felt weird.
"I have to tell you something!"
He said, dropping his fork and spoon on the side of the table. It got Tinsley\'s attention too and she looked in his direction.
"What is it?"
She implored. She was not like the tone, he had used and anticipated bad news on its way.
He knew that it would be hard for her to listen to this but she would have to be told sooner or later.
And with her condition, what the doctor had warned him about, he did not intend to give her all the shock together.
"It\'s about Madison and Lana!"
And it hit her right...she could tell something had to be wrong with Madi or else, she would have never ignored her calls, or texts even...not when she had dropped the message of Kian dropping by.
"Lana is sick!"
He let out and Tin did not dare to say anything unless he was done saying. She waited impatiently for him to complete.
"She has cancer back in her stomach and is now undergoing treatment..."
"What do you mean the cancer is back??"
Tinsley could not help it and interrupted him right away. She had never heard of Lana being sick ever.
"Nobody knew...not even Madison that Lana was sick all along...all those months and a year before...she had made her brother swore to keep it a secret."
Kian explained it to her and a heavy gasp passed out of her mouth. Kian could see how disturbed she was and he was yet to drop the last and final bomb.
"She was undertaking the therapy but then things fell apart and her health got deteriorated...she had to be admitted in the hospital and now, only a possible transfer could heal her..."
Kian elaborated. Tinsley did not underistand the things fall apart part.
"What did things fall apart?", she asked, being curious.
"Lana found out Madi cheating with her brother!"
