Chapter 195 - TO STUDY IN A COLLEGE?

"So how is everything?"

"Everything is fine! We are thinking to paint the house blue for the coming Christmas."

Madison said, sipping the champagne, sitting on the armchair, face timing with Tinsley.

"That would look great!"

Tinsley replied, sitting on the carpet, neatly placed over the floor, resting the phone upon a wooden table.

"You do know that we could just stop by if you want?? "

Madi offered. It was something both Lana and her were thinking of. And even Anna Maria was too eager to see her.

"Hmmm...Nah! I m fine here!"

Tinsley did not want that...she did not want to be anymore bother to them anymore.

"Nobody wants to be alone in the holidays."

Madi raised her eyebrows. But Tinsley shook her head in a big no. She told her that she would be working in the diner and the bakery shop for some extra cash anyways.

After the call was over, Tin stood up and decided to get ready for her shift in the diner. It always started past eight in the evening.

She put on her socks as it was freezing cold outside and a beanie. She got out, not before locking the door.

"I m out, Jessica!"

She yelled. It was to let know the old sweet lady that she was off to work and a hint to look after.

Lately, there had been a lot of burglary incidents around the area. The police were working to catch the burglar but no good news so far.

The diner was not so far, she always walked her way to it. The air was chilly and frozen.

At the diner, she roamed around serving the orders to their designated tables. The bartender at the corner winked at her, she smiled back at him.

Being here for four months, she had not made too many friends yet, there were free in her working place, she had made acquaintance with.

Theo, the bartender, he was only twenty, younger than her, but she could tell that he fancied her.

That chef, in the kitchen, a divorced, forty year old, he had already asked her out and she had declined to say she was still not over her marriage...the divorce was in the process.

Yet she had not mustered up the courage to ask Madi about how long more it would take for the divorce thing to be over.

If or not he had signed?? How did he react to seeing her signatures over on the paper??

Did he seem relieved now that he was finally getting rid of her or at least a little bit sad for parting ways from her??

Aghhh!!! The endless train of \'if\' or \'did\' always took up her time on breaks.

A few women, and girls too, she had made friends with from the diner and bakery...yet it was not to the level where she could reveal to them who she really was.

Sometimes, she felt insecure that people would recognize her...who she used to be and judge her situation.

And that always stopped her from spending more than required time with people, avoiding going out with them or hanging out too much.

She just did not want anyone to know who she used to be, who\'s daughter or who\'s wife...not for long though...

"So Tinsley, what are your plans for the holidays??"

Kyle asked, leaning onto the bar. Tin smiled at him. She could not be rude to him for having a crush on her. She used to be as silly as him some time ago in the past and yet could not get over...after everything that had happened.

"Working!"

She answered. He was not really expecting that and raised his eyebrows at her to confirm if or not she was kidding.

"Why?? Don\'t you have a family?? Friends??"

"I just need to earn more, Kyle and holidays are the best to get extra tips!"

She interrupted him and he nodded, agreeing about the extra tip. Another couple checked in and she excused herself to take their orders.

Everyone had been asking about her holiday\'s plans and she had been telling them the same thing she told Kyle.

A quarter of them was staying aback just like her to work and earn extra, only a few were going back home for the holiday.

She had never been alone in a holiday session and this would be her first one. She just wanted to feel how it would feel like to be lonely, and completely alone with her own company.

As the diner closed down, she cleaned the last table and got ready to leave. Kyle offered to walk her by.

She did not know how to politely decline him for the nth time and so she let him in. She did not want to seem like a stuck up bitch.

They both silently walked along. The street was almost empty. Cars were going to and fro on the main road. It was the alley that was always forlorn.

"I heard you are in college!"

Tinsley started the conversation, not liking the silence. She always hated it and that was the reason why she would always make the music play in her studio house to not feel the silence creeping up in her.

"Yes! I work per time here. Saving some money you know. Tuition fees are very costly."

Kyle replied. He was almost over with his college degree and Tin only could wonder how it was like to be studying in a college.

She never got the chance to get in one. Even when her parents could have afforded her an ivy league school like Harvard or Oxford, or Yale, she was not deemed fit to get into a college.

She thought if she was given an education then, she would not have to work in a diner or a bakery to earn her livelihood.

"So how is it like to study in a college??"

She asked, wondering if it were the same as how the books and movies described.
