Chapter 980: Dragon Taming

The monsters weren’t too far away; they were called “Enraged Rock Elementals”. There were plenty of Rock Elementals everywhere in Badlands, but there were only about seven or eight of these enraged ones.

In Lu Li’s previous life when he had attempted this quest, it was a total disaster.

When countless players fought over seven or eight monsters, it resulted in everyone fighting each other. Random players would take up to days to finally obtain their quest item, and if they weren’t careful, they would just become cannon fodder in the group battle.

There were no such issues for them right now. There was barely anyone in the Badlands and certainly no one to steal their monsters.

However, this didn’t mean that it would be easy for them to obtain twenty of the quest items either.

“Let’s all split into groups of three to four. Once we all take a position, we’ll clear the monsters in our range. Two players attack, and one player can loot,” Lu Li said, then briefly sorted everyone into their positions.

The few level 55 monsters pounced on them as soon as they saw them. Enraged Rock Elementals had a high Defense, and a stronger Attack than the ordinary Rock Elementals. However, their weakness was obvious – their health was much lower.

With Lu Li’s damage, he could take down one with about seven hits. With two to three players attacking simultaneously, the Elementals would instantly be killed.

“It didn’t drop.” Azure Sea Breeze barely had any attack, so he could only loot.

“It’s normal; the drop rate of the scroll pieces is a little low.”

There were still six hours from the match, so they would definitely be able to complete the quest by today.

“Is it this Scrunched Up Scroll Piece?” Remnant Dream asked as she held onto a broken piece.

As soon as Lu Li had mentioned the low drop rate, Remnant Dream immediately looted one. It was clear that her luck was far superior to the others.

“Everyone, stop looting. Let Remnant Dream do it,” Lu Li said, finally remebering that he had another secret weapon with him.

They killed six monsters in the first wave, but only the two monsters that Remnant Dream looted dropped quest items. Everyone else either received white equipment or useless materials that weren’t even worth selling to the shops.

With the help of Remnant Dream, a quest that would usually take about two hours was completed in around twenty minutes.

Broken Scroll Pieces, Scrunched Up Scroll Pieces and Burnt Scroll Pieces – they obtained all three different types and brought them to Theldurin the Lost.

“Uncle, what do we do next?” Hachi Chan asked.

“Let me repair these scrolls. Then, we’ll see what they tell us after we join them together.”

Theldurin the Lost didn’t even have the slightest intention of making the task harder for Hachi Chan, and simply began to combine the scrolls pieces.

Everyone sat together and just watched.

“God...my God! A misfortune is about to appear! It’s coming to me! A misfortune is coming!”

After the scroll had been combined. Theldurin the Lost was immediately stunned.

Everyone was confused by his words; did he really have to be so dramatic?

“Excuse me, what’s this misfortune? There are so many of us.”

Hachi Chan was confident; she had never failed a quest before.

“No, I cannot say... I cannot say their name, or else they’ll hear it! But, if we...if we understand a bit more about them...we might know how to defeat them!”

“What do we need to do?” Hachi Chan’s asked as her eyes glistened. The more difficult the quest, the more she was interested in it.

Everyone had a niche that they excelled in. In terms of quests, she could without a doubt claim to be the master, even compared to the expert and celebrity players.

“Go to Uldaman. You need to find the Tablet of Ryun’eh...yes, find it! Don’t let me mention that name again! It’s hidden deep within there, in an ancient box. This box is even more ancient than the Dwarves...”

Uldaman – this wasn’t an unfamiliar name, but rather, a private dungeon.

Uldaman, Uldum and Ulduar were the first cities made by Earthen and were named after Titans. But now, they had been deeply buried underground while the Earthen had slept for almost 8000 years there.

It was only recently when the Dwarf adventurers discovered this forgotten city and released the failures made by the titans – the Troggs.

“We probably don’t need that many players. I’ll go in there with Hachi Chan,” Lu Li suggested after he estimated the distance and recalled all the monsters along the way.

Most importantly, if they had locked in their route, the sky would be much safe than land.

“I can’t ride my dragon yet,” Hachi Chan said sadly.

Her dragon has finally become capable of flying after all this time, but unfortunately, it wasn’t strong enough to take Hachi Chan along with it. The girl was short, but she was still too heavy.

“I’ll carry you. Aren’t you capable of transformations too?” Lu Li asked as he rolled his eyes.

This girl spent all her time on her dragon; she had probably already forgotten that she was capable of transforming into a butterfly.

With the time she had for taming the dragon, she could probably spend it more on learning how to fly. She would probably be the only girl who would be capable of running into a tree after learning the flying skill.

“Lu Li, don’t you think you’re like my mount now? Hahahaha,” Hachi Chan laughed as she turned into a butterfly and sat on Lu Li’s crow head.

“My ***...” Lu Li was mad about being a mount so he tumbled through the air.

Hachi Chan wasn’t prepared and fell straight off Lu Li’s head.

“Ah...” If someone could see clearly, they would find that Hachi Chan was erratically fluttering about. She had completely forgotten that she could also fly.

Lu Li grabbed her with his claws before she fell into a pack of monsters.

It was interesting to bully little girls once in a while. Lu Li would never admit that he was doing this because he was envious of how well Hachi Chan got along with the NPCs.

Uldaman was currently a pile of ruins, so Lu Li didn’t need to enter the dungeon.

He took Hachi Chan around in a loop, and pretended to accidentally find the cave that Theldurin the Lost was talking about.

After they flew in, they found a large box inside. It was very obvious and was right at the center. There were four small totem poles nearby that were carved with an assortment of strange runes.

After Hachi Chan landed on the ground, she was almost about to cry.

“Let me down,” she sniffed.

“You should learn how to fly by yourself in the future. I’m doing all this for your own good; have you forgotten how to train dragons?”

Lu Li was referring to was how Hachi Chan had dropped her dragon from a high place. What he had done today was almost identical to what Hachi Chan did.
