Chapter 122 Im always here
Xia Sinian lowered his head when he heard him. It was his fault that this happened to his sister.
Ji Ruo patted his back, as if knowing what Xia Sinian was thinking. "It’s not your fault. It is better that you told her yourself. It will cause her more distress if she will know about your condition from someone else." She turned to Xia Meilin who was lying down on the bed. "Our Mei’er will be okay once she wakes up. For now, let’s allow her to rest."
"I will stay here." Lu Yifeng said, the atmosphere around him was heavy. He sat down on the chair beside the bed and held his wife’s hand.
They looked at him and didn’t say a thing, instead, they left him alone with his wife.

Xia Meilin woke up and found herself inside her old room. The warmth of the sun filtered in through the window and a floral scent filled the room.
She heard the sound of laughters and splashes of water coming from her balcony.
"You’re awake."
When she turned her head, she saw Lu Yifeng staring at her with a gentle look on his face. She didn’t say a thing. The laughters and squeals that was heard below her room’s balcony distracted her.
"They’re at the swimming pool."
Xia Meilin went off the bed and walked towards the balcony. She saw Little Melon playing with Xia Sinian and Li Bingbing. They were splashing water to each other and Little Melon would sometimes use Xia Sinian as a human barrier whenever Li Bingbing would try to splash huge wave of water towards him.
Meanwhile, her grandparents were sitting on the pool bench, watching the three from the sideline.
This scene made Xia Meilin smile. Everyone have smiles on their faces. As she watched them, her eyes stopped on Xia Sinian. While staring at him, her eyes started becoming blurry. She felt her chest being ripped open as the flashes of what happened earlier appeared in front of her.
"Meilin." Lu Yifeng made her face him before he pulled her in his embrace. It pains him to see her like this. If only he can take her pain away, he would have do something about it already.
She buried her face in his chest and cried. She clenched on his shirt as she sobbed. "That wasn’t a dream..."
Lu Yifeng stroked her hair, "Your brother will hate himself if he sees you crying."
"How... How can I not cry? He’s leaving me... My brother... my only brother is leaving me." She raised her head and looked at him with her wet face. "He’s leaving me..."
Lu Yifeng wiped her tears with his hand before he carried her in a bridal style and went in. He placed her down on the bed and sat beside her. "He’s not gone yet, Meilin. I know how hard it is to lose someone... that’s why, while he is here with us, you should cheerish the best times spend with him and pray for the success of his treatment. His treatment may not cure him but it can give him more years to live, shouldn’t you be glad with that? You’re crying as if he’s already dead. He’s still here, Meilin. I know that this is hard for you but this is also a hard thing for your brother. He needs you to be there for him. Whatever decisions he makes, be happy for him. You are his sister and you need to support him."
"But... what if it won’t go well?" She covered her face with her hands.
Lu Yifeng held her wrists and pulled her hands down before he gave her a flick on her forehead.
"Ow!" Xia Meilin furrowed her brows. She touched her forehead. "What was that for?"
"I told you earlier, right? Stop killing him in your mind when he’s still here with us."
She pursed her lips and lowered her head. "But..."
"No buts." He placed his hand on her tummy, "I know that it’s hard, but don’t forget that I’m here Meilin. I will always be here for you. It’s okay to cry and be sad but you already did that earlier. You can’t continue on being like this for eight months. Don’t you know how much this will affect our kids? Our children needs a cheerful mother. I need a happy and smiling wife."
