Chapter 92 Reward Hall (1)
Just like that, Rex and Kian left the Underground Tower.
They took their weapons and left without looking back or without bidding farewell to the other members. There was no need for them to speak to Olivia and the others. Everyone could make their own decision. Kian chose to leave, and Rex chose to follow him.
Rex would have remained at Liam\'s side if not for Kian, but his friend was more important to him than a halfling he met a few days ago. Furthermore, he thought that it was time for them to start searching for their families. If they were still alive, it was better to reunite sooner rather than too late.
"I will find peace," Liam mumbled to himself as the two boys left, "…once I have my revenge!"
Rex\'s last comments were a little hard on him but Liam didn\'t show that. He was expressionless as he opened his status window to take a look at the amount of Arcanium he had amassed and how much time he had left with the Small Shop.
[Arcanium: 661.1]
[Small Shop Countdown <12D:18H:52M:24S>]
There was still more than enough time with the Small Shop. However, Liam wanted to buy the Small Shop to receive its ownership. With the Ownership certificate, many things would become a lot easier.
However, for now, he had to earn a lot more Arcanium before he could purchase the Small Shop. That was why he had entered the Underground Tower, and also enough reason for him to be quite happy about his little sister\'s petty attitude and that she was a spoiled brat.
If not for her being spoiled and petty, she would have never added a mine to the Reward Hall, even less a Saphirate Crystal Mine. His little sister knew that this crystal was useless in the Underworld. Other than its appearance being shiny and somewhat decent, it was useless…but only in the Underworld.
In the Overworld, Saphirate Crystals were extremely valuable. Of course, his sister would never find out about something like that because her knowledge was limited to the Underworld. She only knew that a Saphirate Crystal Mine was in her territory and that nobody desired it in the Underworld.
\'\'Lira, you will never realize how valuable certain things are for others…just because they\'re not useful for you, or other Demons and Devils, doesn\'t mean that they\'re trash. Ignorant bitch!\'\'
Liam was muttering to himself but he noticed that the three remaining girls stared at him.
He stopped abruplty and looked over to them.
"Are you planning to leave as well?" He thus asked, pretty sure that the question was not actually needed. Olivia had expressly stated that she would have killed Ludwig herself. Her train of thought was even worse than Liam\'s nonchalant attitude.
Meanwhile, Felicia would have loved to impale Ludwig with her Black Steel Saber as well. She would stay by Olivia\'s side, recover from her injuries and then decide what they would do in the future.
That only left Jennie, a young native woman, who was not willing to find out what the future had in store for her. She was good at finding treasures though. She stayed by the other girls, thinking that this was the best choice. After all, someone had already attempted to rape her before, and Jennie didn\'t really wish to go back to the huge gymnasium where the incident occurred.
"We will stay," Olivia answered Liam\'s question while getting up from the ground as she was ready to follow him.
Felicia forced her tired body to move as well. Her injuries had mostly healed but her body felt a little weak. She would need a few more days to regain her full strength.
"Are you happy that you have all women for yourself now?" She teased. Felicia winked at him, only to realize that Olivia and Jennie started to glare at her threateningly.
"I was just joking. Calm down…please."
Liam raised an eyebrow but he didn\'t say anything.
He turned in the direction of the largest tunnel and entered it. His eyes moved left and right as he scanned it thoroughly, with the Devil\'s Eyes Soultrait fully unleashed.
Because his arm was still not fully healed, he was having some difficulties removing all traps as he walked through the tunnel that spiraled further down into the ground.
There were hundreds of traps in the tunnel that never seemed to end. Liam understood why Olivia and the others were worried about the traps. Even he couldn\'t be certain that he found every single trap in the tunnel.
"Follow closely behind me and be mindful of your steps, otherwise, you might trigger some of the traps that I didn\'t find," He warned the girls behind him as he continued his path downward.
By the time they finally reached the Reward Hall of the Underground Tower, more than an hour had passed. Jennie immediately shot forward, her eyes gleaming brightly.
"Something is behind there. It\'s really valuable!" Jennie said, barely able to contain her excitement.
Her Soultrait was going wild, telling her that something extremely valuable was hidden behind the wall of the Reward Hall.
That confused Liam a little. After all, the Saphirate Crystal Mine should be to their left. The entrance was to their left, at least.
Or was he mistaken? Was a portion of the mine to their right as well, just hidden behind the wall?
Liam looked at Jennie for a few seconds and nodded his head. He used some Arcane Power while retrieving his Keychain of Miniature Tools to expand the mining pickaxe from the keychain. Putting the Livral Orb aside, he began to mine through the basalt wall. Liam\'s left arm was still unusable and hurting. Thus, he held the mining pickaxe with his right, cleaving it down on the basalt with just one hand.
His muscles were bulging beneath his skin as he stroke hard on the basalt. The basalt shattered beneath the might he was able to unleash with a single arm. Small pieces of basalt crumbled and drizzled to the ground with every strike he issued.
In less than half an hour, Liam had dug a small hole through the wall and he saw something quite interesting behind the basalt wall.
And it was not a second entrance of the Saphirate Crystal Mine. That was for sure!
